100% Consistent is a dutch guide for executives, managers, project leaders, and (communication) advisors. It makes implicit communication explicit and helps align words and actions, so they reinforce rather than undermine each other.

When a CEO passionately advocates for sustainability but drives a large SUV, their words and actions don’t align. This creates a problem for the organization, as employees place greater value on such implicit signals than on the official message. The concept of implicit communication gives us a framework to address what we observe but often don’t articulate.

Most communication advisors and senior managers are highly aware of signals that fall under implicit communication but lack a structured approach to address them. Authors Ilse van Ravenstein, Bas van Glabbeek, and Mark van Vuuren from the University of Twente conducted research at sixteen organizations to explore this topic. Their findings, combined with extensive practical experience, are captured in 100% Consistent: The Impact of Implicit Communication (Publisher: De Communicatiepraktijk, 2012).
